Project Name: Green Stories 2
Organization: Central Neighborhood House
To offer environmental workshops at the Don Valley Brickworks, which will bring together immigrant and refugee women to increase their knowledge of environmental issues that connect with their everyday lives.

Project Name: Jamestown Community Garden
Organization: West Indian Volunteer Community Support Services
To enhance and foster community spirit and cooperation among community members through the creation of a community garden in Elmbank Park.

Project Name: Stone Soup in the Park
Organization:Toronto Kiwanis Boys & Girls Club/ World Play Theatre
To have children from ages 7-12 partake in workshops that incorporate international music and folktales in an effort to increase understanding of other cultures. The workshops are followed by a public performance in Moss Park.

Project Name: Leslieville Tree Festival and Volunteer Stewardship Program
Organization: Phoenix Community Works Foundation / LEAF
To raise awareness and concern about trees in local parks through a series of workshops, local art exhibits with nature themes, children’s art activities and educational displays in Leslie Grove Park.

Project Name: Green Thumbs/ Growing Things
Organization: Toronto Kiwanis Boys and Girls Club
To offer a free after school ecological gardening and nature activities program for children from low-income neighborhoods in Riverdale Farm.

Project Name: Rexdale’s Environmental Revitalization
Organization: Rexdale Women’s Centre
To encourage ethno-cultural seniors to become more involved in local parks through educational workshops that deal with restoration of the urban environment.

Project Name: Bulb Planting
Organization: Birchmount Bluffs Neighborhood Centre
To teach youth gardening skills and encourage community involvement through a bulb planting project at Birchmount Community Centre.

Project Name: The Nook – Musical Theatre Community Art Garden
Organization: Christie Ossington Neighborhood Centre
To create and maintain a musical theatre community art garden, which children and community members will utilize for summer performances, artist visits and events.

Project Name: AIDS Memorial Garden
Organization: The 519 Church Street Community Centre
To restore the beauty of the AIDS Memorial Garden in Cawthra Square Park through physical improvements.

Project Name: St. James Town Native Plants & Composting Project
Organization: Growing Together
To encourage citizens who do not have their own gardens to participate in greening local parks through a series of educational, hands-on workshops about native plants and composting in St. James Town West Park.

Project Name: Garden Book
Organization: Fred Victor Centre
To create a book of garden related poems, anecdotes and stories that will feature writing from the Fred Victor Garden Group that will be shared with the Moss Park Community Kitchen Gardeners.

Project Name: Memorial Garden Project
Organization: Community Head Injury Resource Services (CHIRS)
To enable CHIRS clients, who are often marginalized from regular community life, the opportunity to integrate into the larger community through helping to maintain a memorial garden in Earl Bales Park.

Project Name: Toronto Island Park Algonquin Island Bridge
Organization: Shadowland Theatre
To celebrate the history of the Toronto Islands through the expansion of a current annual parade into a full performance of the Island’s history, told in theatre style, incorporating puppetry, stilt dance, acrobatics and live music.

Project Name: Beautification of Donora Park
Organization: Friends of Donora Park
To enhance a barren piece of land also known as Donora Park by planting native species done by local volunteers.

Project Name: Cob in the Park: Earthen Courtyard Wall in Dufferin Grove Park
Organization: Clay & Paper Theatre
To construct an earthen walled courtyard and establish a new outdoor gathering place in Dufferin Grove Park. It will be built with a sand-clay-straw mix knows as “cob,” and will incorporate native planting around the wall and puppet theatre window.

Project Name: Assembly Hall Butterfly Garden
Organization: Lakeshore Arts
To encourage community involvement through the installation of a natural butterfly garden in Colonel Samuel Smith Park.

Project Name: Carsbrooke Park Rejuvenation Project
Organization: Etobicoke Horticultural Society
To increase general use and improve the appearance and ecological health of Carsbrooke Park by incorporating new playground equipment within the parks natural environment.

Project Name: Fairmount Park Enhancement Project
Organization: East End Community Health Centre
To improve the appearance, ecological health and shade areas in Fairmount Park by planting and maintaining native trees and shrubs.

Project Name: Evening in the Park
Organization: Eastview Neighborhood Community Centre
To increase recreational opportunities in a low-income neighborhood and improve the appearance and ecological health of Eastview Park by offering an Urban Agriculture Program.

Project Name: Black Creek Prairie Wildflower Garden
Organization: Black Creek Conservation Project
To establish a native prairie wildflower garden within Black Creek Park through a planting by community and student volunteers.
